Employees in this class perform work involving the repair and servicing of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic equipment used in the automated systems serving the medical center.Responsibilities
- Maintains, repairs, calibrates, tests and operates automated electronic-mechanical equipment.
- Responsible for trouble-shooting the electronic controls and mechanical systems, using schematics and service manuals where available, and repairing malfunctioning systems by repairing or replacing defective components or sub-systems.
- Uses digital and analog volt meters, ammeters, ohm-meters, watt meters, recorders, capacitors and transistor tester.
- Works on low and high voltage systems supplying power to remote and local devices.
- Repairs and fabricates mechanical and electro-mechanical instruments using drill press, oxyacetylene torches, grinder, buffer, punches, presses, hand tools and other fabrication and repair equipment.
- Maintains, repairs, inspects and operates pneumatic, hydraulic and lubricant systems used throughout the automated systems.
- Prepares and maintains logs of activities, preventive maintenance and remedial repairs and other work forms, as necessary.
- Performs preventive maintenance on systems as indicated by manufacturer or department guidelines.

- Performs all other related job duties as assigned.
ExperienceGenerally requires 0 to 3 years of related experience.EducationHigh School diploma is required.
