  • You will serve within the Naval Ordnance Safety and Security Activity (NOSSA), Ordnance Environmental Infrastructure Directorate (N4), Ordnance Environmental Support Branch (OESB), (N45).
  • You will develop, plan and conduct the technical support aspects and serve as a technical consultant on industrial waste and pollution problems involving environmental concerns and explosives safety.
  • You will serve as an expert on environmental reviews and inspections as well as a recognized expert on ordnance and range operations on air and water quality as well as explosive hazardous waste disposal issues.
  • You will interpret environmental rules and regulations, relative to the impact of design plans/projects to anticipate issues and develop sound solutions and action pans.
  • You will lead and direct technical projects in the areas of explosive safety and environmental protection to meet Navy industrial environmental compliance and explosive safety goals.
  • You will identify and optimize budget plans, taking into account costs and risks associated with operations of unique components to accomplish program goals and provide enhanced effectiveness.
  • You will serve as a representative on tri-service interface committees dealing with ordnance related environmental issues and programs.
  • You will maintain knowledge of state-of-the-art environmental protection regulatory compliance requirements to develop and implement Navy-wide compliance strategies.

QualificationsFOR NH-03 (GS-12/13 equivalent): Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NH-02 (GS-11 equivalent), or grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: experience performing environmental protection program analysis and planning that evaluates and establishes applicable administrative directives implementation and determines programmatic requirements compliance (e.g., administrative guidance and planning for programs to protect or improve environmental quality, control pollution, remedy environmental damage, or ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations).Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website:Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
